Moore Wins Pro-Drag @ Gypsy Rendezvous  Nationals
Many thought it was the earthquake in St. Louis that registered an impressive 5.2 on the richter scale. Actually, it was Mid-Continent Motorsport's Pro-Dragster Champion, Rick Moore - rockin' @ Gateway International Raceway!

Once again, Moore competed in three pro classes at the Gypsy Rendezvous Nationals.  He qualified first place on the Pro-Dragster with best E.T. of the class, 7.398 at 172.36mph.  However, the opposition was fierce as competitor Terry Stewart qualified second place with a notable E.T. of 7.571 at 166.89mph.  Moore secured a first-round bye run, as he broke the beam to advance to the semi-finals against Rocky Jackson - where he had best E.T. of the day, with an E.T. of 7.386 @ 175.57mph.   Then it was every team-owner's dream as Mike Bahnmaier watched his riders duke it out to the finish.  Chuck Jones ran a lucky number 7.777 pass - however, it wasnt enough to keep Moore out of the winner's circle.  Moore finished the win with an E.T. of 7.410 @ 173.78mph.

Moore qualified third place and finished third place in the Pro-Gas class.  It was David Hope, riding a160ci S & S /Buell for Vroom Racing (owned by John Hammock), who qualified first place.  But veteran Mike Lozano's machine was unbeatable as he took the trophy with an impressive E.T. of 7.218 @ 187.31mph.

Seat-time was the name-of-the-game for Pro-Fuel competition.  Moore made three passes on the bike, and sustained a first-round loss to record-setter, Tak Shigematsu who clocked a new Pro-Fuel record E.T. 6.567 at 212mph, and backed it up with a 6.52 at 209mph!!
